Traditionally, still life painting incorporates flowers, fruit and other elements of nature. Today's junk food replaces healthy eating and adds a contemporary element to these images.

Playing with Words
We communicate by seeing and hearing. As an artist, I began to notice that what we hear could be presented differently - and so homonyms and irregular verbs began to appear in my work as another way to expand metaphor. The pear has been used throughout history as a symbol for fertility. Different in meaning is "pair", the joining of corresponding elements, which may also imply mating.

Hidden Agendas
This series, acrylic on board and formed like altarpieces, is intended to bring light into a world of pain, suffering, and neglect. The world experienced by abused children necessitates the building of barriers and the wearing of armor, concealing wounds held deep within. It is the uncovering of this tragic waste, which will ultimately lead to healing - in the world, in humanity, and in each individual. It is this dichotomy that is expressed in these altars to human evolution.
